Island Tours

The history of the Banda islands is one of spices and conquest that surrounds you wherever you go. Well preserved old forts and ancient nutmeg plantations dating from the 16th & 17th centuries offer exquisite opportunities to explore. For the adventitious there is the trek to Gunug Api (fire mountain) crater. This volcano has repeatedly erupted during the past 600 years. These islands are the remaining crater rim of what was once one of the world’s largest volcanoes.

Abba will be happy to facilitate your adventures and Dila always makes sure you have a well stocked lunch box for that picnic under swaying palms fresh from snorkeling, or nutmeg trees over 400 years old that perfume the air with the rich aroma of spices, or perhaps on the walls of an ancient fort where the sounds of colonial cannon still reverberate from the past.
