Pulau Hatta is a remote place east of Banda Neira that was once famous for its teak wood. Today it provides some of the finest underwater panoramas in the world. The unspoiled reefs are stunningly beautiful no matter where you look. Long white beaches swaying palms, and superb diving make Hatta everyone's favorite. Historically it has had only one major incident when an English ship's caption caused the British flag to be planted in several places simply to enrage the Dutch. It worked. The Dutch took several days mounting a major expedition to oust the English arriving in full force to find them long gone and only the flags left behind.
